Betty Ponciano Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On April 6, 2021, Betty Ponciano our beloved Mom/Nana went home to be with our Lord and the love of her life. She was born December 11, 1926, to Harry and Bessie Stilwell in Topeka, Kansas. Her school years were spent in Orland, CA where she also met the love of her life, the late Frank Ponciano. They spent the next 52 years together happily married with their family. Betty worked for 25 years in the Civil Division of the Sutter County Sheriff's Department, always looking beautiful in her uniform. After retiring she spent many years with Dad at their vacation home near Chester, CA. Years later, she generously spent 10 years volunteering at the Fremont Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Yuba City Moose and Plumas Lake Golf and Country Club. She is survived by a brother Harry Stilwell (Madelynn) of Chester, daughter Nancy Rogers (Duane) and son Tom Ponciano of Yuba City. Additionally, her granddaughters, Tami Saalsaa, Deidre Robbins of Yuba City, Angela Barry of Sparks, Nevada, Michele Towslee (Jason) of Sherwood, Oregon and step grandson Keven Rogers of Marysville. Included in her loving family are 5 great granddaughters, 1 great grandson, 1 great great granddaughter and 2 great great grandsons arriving in June and July. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ponciano and her 4 brothers: Bud, Lee, Denny and Robert Stilwell. Services to be held on April 15, 2021 at 10:00 am at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City. Burial following at Lincoln Cemetery, 1445 1st Street, Lincoln, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rideout Hospital Auxiliary c/o Carol Ramirez, 618 Fifth St., Marysville, CA 95901.
