Hilberto "Benny" Gonzales, of Yuba City, CA, passed away December 3, 2020. He was born in Calexico, CA, July 18, l938. He is survived by his loving wife of over 33 years, Ofelia P. Gonzales; his children, Richard Gonzales, Reney A. Jeffreys and Benjamin Gonzales; grandsons, Bryan, Ryan, Chance and Hunter Gonzales, and Hunter and Seth Jeffreys; granddaughter, Trinity Gonzales; siblings, Sally Pitzer, Lucille and Keith Spiker, Jerry and Nancy Gonzales, Martha and Ronald Chan, and Patrick Gonzales; and three stepchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Leandro Gonzales; and his mother, Anita Nieto Gonzales; his sister, Anita Godwin; and brother-in-law, Jake Godwin. He graduated from Yuba City High School in 1957. Enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959 and was released from active duty in 1963 from 831ST Air Police Squadron (TAC) with an honorable discharge. He was a self-employed business owner, who worked for the City of Marysville for 20 years and retired from Marysville Unified School District after 15 years of service. Benny will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. We are all happy he is at peace and resting with angels. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, funeral services will not be held. Benny will be buried at the Veteran's Cemetery in Dixon, CA, at a date to be determined. Arrangements were made under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
