If you’re seeking an honorable celebration of life, we invite you to learn more about where we came from, our vision, and the dedicated people behind our work.
A History of Caring
In November 1941, Bert M. Ullrey and his son Burwell W. Ullrey began construction on Ullrey Memorial Chapel. The family-run business officially opened on February 22, 1942. Their mission was to provide quality, compassionate, and healing care for Yuba City families. In addition to his duties as a funeral home director and owner, Bert served as Sutter County Sheriff for 12 years. His son, Burwell, was the County Coroner from 1942 to 1958.
As consistent as our name, Ullrey Memorial Chapel remains committed to providing superior service, personalized care, and affordable prices. We are here for Sutter, Yuba, Butte, Colusa, Sacramento, Nevada, and Yolo Counties and surrounding areas, 24/7, 365 days a year.
