Obituary of Darnell Elizabeth Howe

Darnell Elizabeth Hall Heffley Howe, 84, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, aunt, close friend of many, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, in the comfort of her own home in Yuba City, California, with the ones that loved her most. Darnell was born on December 30, 1939, at her home in Meridian, California, by her grandmother Nellie who was a midwife, to Wayne Hall and Fay Stass Hall. Darnell was born and raised in Meridian, California, and graduated from Sutter Union High School in 1957. She briefly attended Yuba College. She enjoyed working at Yuba City High School, being apart of the Ladies Auxiliary at Fremont hospital, her Sorority Sisters and in recent years planning her High School Class reunions. She is survived by her three children, Dwayne (Lisa) Heffley, Deatrice Heffley and Daren (Gayle) Heffley; and her grandchildren, Samuel Pharis, Rebekah (Morgan Osgood) Heffley, Tanner Heffley, Daren Heffley JR., Nicole (Zack) Trinidade, and Aislyn Dirkx. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne Hall and Fay Staas Hall Rhodes; her sister, Alicia Flagor; and her companion LeRoy Flagor. A celebration of life will be held as a potluck service on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 2 pm at Sutter United Methodist Church, 7751 South Butte Road, Sutter, CA 95982.
