Obituary of William A. Woods

William A. "Bill" Woods, age 82, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends at his residence in Marysville, CA. He was born on September 26, 1941, in Yuba City, CA, the son of the late Carl J. and Theodora Woods. Bill graduated from Marysville High School in 1959, and worked for the family firm, Carl J. Woods Construction Company Inc., until 2012. Bill was a heavy equipment operator, project manager, and lifelong member of Operating Engineers. Outgoing, generous, and devoted to friends and family, Bill loved to entertain. He frequently hosted weekly get-togethers with friends and neighbors and enjoyed hosting dinner parties. He had a passion for his work, spending time with loved ones, and was also a long-time 49ers fan. Bill will be deeply missed by his daughters, extended family, and friends. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Moore, Becky Woods, and Shelly Woods; as well as son-in-law, Jason Moore; nephew, Russell and Patrice Woods; niece, Carla; and his dear friends, Richard Shippen, Amy Ohrt and Beverly Wooten. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Mandy; and brother, Carl. Memorial services will be held on April 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond Street, Yuba City. Pastor Jim Anderson will officiate. A private burial will be held at Sutter Cemetery.
